This is the Rumbles family website, although in reality it is a collection of travel diaries. When we retired in 2015, we embarked on a series of adventures, first to Australia where Jenni and Graham lived and started their family with the arrival of Hamish and Ethan. Following this we set off in our caravan to explore Scandinavia, twice, then Spain and France, the coast of England and Wales followed by the coast of Scotland. After selling the caravan, we moved on to a motorhome named Colin, in which we continued our adventures in Brittany, southern Ireland, Croatia, France and Spain.
After Colin’s departure, we moved on to different sorts of holidays, the first of which was an Inter rail adventure to Switzerland. The second was a road trip to Brittany and Ireland ….. again! Our next adventure was to the other side of the pond! We undertook a road trip from Boston, around Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island returning via the White Mountains in New Hampshire to witness the Autumn foliage first hand … a real dream come true.
After these latter holidays, we have found that we yearn for our own ‘space’ when travelling, so have just acquired another caravan which our grandsons have insisted we call Colin IV! So 2026 and beyond will see us travelling closer to home.
